BlacKKKlansman is the newest film by director Spike Lee (Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, Jungle Fever, She's Gotta Have it), and stars John David Washington as Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer from Colorado who manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan. After seeing this movie, I have to say that I really like it. John David Washington was very good as Ron Stallworth. The acting by Adam Driver, Topher Grace, Laura Harrier were also very good too. To be honest, this is probably the best I've seen Adam Driver in a movie so far. He was good in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but this role was best suited for him. The story was interesting and it gets your attention right away. The directing by Spike Lee was great, the way he captures the life, style, and time of the 70's was spot on. The way the film was edited felt like I was watching sort of a stylish crime movie which was really good for the movie. Some of the music in this film was very good, and felt as if I was in the 70's with the way everything is depicted on screen gave me sort of a glimpse to what the 70's was a bit like, and for a person who actually really likes 70's music and the style of the 70's it really made me like the film even more. I think the way Spike Lee mixes drama, crime, humor, and serious subject matter in this film mostly works well. When it comes to the scenes with the Ku Klux Klan it feels very real almost as if we were watching real footage of the real people showing us their hatred towards other human beings. Almost everything in BlacKKKlansman is great, but I do have to admit that they're were some scenes in this film that were so menacing and insane that they kind of got under my skin a little bit. I do have one more problem with this film, there is a scene in this movie that shows real life events of fights breaking out and chaos going around, and watching those scenes in this film were very disturbing and real, but my problem is the transformation from one scene to the other felt a bit rough, and it editing could have been more smoothly done. Overall, BlacKKKlansman was really good movie by Spike Lee that I recommend seeing.
